WHAT DO YOU SEE IN THE MIRROR? Pt 4

"I'm not enough..." The thought still plagued.

She looked around, her friends were oblivious to her plight. They were back to their table and chattering about a variety of topics ranging from what was happening in the lives of BBN stars to which Nollywood actor had a baby mama...

Suddenly someone's face flashed through her mind. There was something significant about the person. She grappled to catch it but it was foggy... There! The face again! Laura!

Laura was her 200 level bunkmate before she'd left the hostel. They still spoke once in a while.

But why was Laura coming to mind at this time? Their lives were worlds apart. Oh! Maybe that was why. The girl lived an unbothered life or at least that's how it seemed. There was this aura around her; of contentment and satisfaction... Not that she had it all together but you never caught her without a smile or a kind word.

Back then, Seni's whinings about her clothes not being in vogue only evoked a pithy saying like "Fashion is timeless."

Laura was definitely not the one to look in the mirror and be assailed with thoughts of not being enough. Her confidence wasn't a cloak or an illusory front. It was skin deep; exuding from this inner place of knowing...

Apparently, Laura was in on something that Seni needed desperately. The emptiness seemed to be swallowing her into a bottomless vortex of despair...

She hardly recalled the rest of the evening. It wasn't a surprise her very self absorbed company didn't notice her zombie like motions though.

"Hi, Bunks! I just called to check on you..." Laura? She hadn't noted the caller ID when she'd picked the call...
