WHAT DO YOU SEE IN THE MIRROR Pt 2

"I'm not enough."

That's the reoccurring thought in Seni's head. She can't bring herself to look back into the mirror. The person who had stared back at her was too flawed, not up to par with the image of what she thought was the standard.

"The standard!" She blinked. "What really was the standard?"

She checked her mind, "Who around her really fit into the supposed standard?" Now that she thought about it, none of her 'friends' really did. They had an image in their mind and ceaselessly strived to attain it but it had always been a futile struggle.

Each of her friends had a complaint about their lives, their bodies, their account balance, their relationships etc...

None actually fit into the 'Happy, Rich and Classy' society girl image they all aimed to project. Each fell short of this perfect persona they'd imagined in their heads; this role model they'd built based on the what had been projected by their favorite social media influencers.

They all agreed that those influencers had issues but they still tried to be different bits of each one of them. Wasn't it crazy?

Within their circle, they shamed each other for not meeting up to certain qualities and still turned around to complain of things they lacked in themselves. Each was so flawed by their 'standards' yet expected perfection nonetheless. What a toxic cycle!

It was crazy now that she mulled over it.

This realization comes with a shroud of emptiness. It starts as a small ball of void in her belly, tunneling as it works up to her chest; creating this huge vacuum that seeps to envelope her on the outside.

"Seni!!!"

Tayo's screech breaks through her. What? what was that? A trance?

And yes, that is one of Tayo's flaws, a weird weird voice...
